About Validate

Built by auditors who believed audit software should do more of the audit.

Validate was built inside a CPA firm, by professionals who understand what it actually takes to complete an engagement.

We saw talented auditors spending too much of their time moving data, preparing workpapers, chasing support, documenting procedures and completing repetitive tasks.

We believed there was a better way.

Our story

We didn’t set out to build another audit platform.

We started by trying to solve our own problem.

Like many CPA firms, our audit practice relied on experienced professionals working through increasingly complex engagements using software that helped organise the audit — but still required people to perform most of the work.

At the same time, hiring was difficult, labour costs were increasing, and clients expected faster service.

So we began building AI into our own audit process.

What started as automation for individual tasks evolved into something much bigger: a platform designed to perform and coordinate work across the engagement itself.

That became Validate.

What we believe

Auditors should spend their time where judgement matters.

Technology has made audit software better at organising engagements, storing documentation and connecting workflows. But organising work isn’t the same as doing it.

We believe the next generation of audit technology should perform the repetitive work while professionals remain responsible for judgement, review and approval.

Traditional audit software

  1. 1Auditor performs work
  2. 2Software stores work
  3. 3Workpaper

Validate

  1. 1Auditor sets direction
  2. 2Validate AI performs work
  3. 3Auditor reviews + exercises judgement
  4. 4Completed workpaper

AI executes. Auditors exercise judgement.

Our mission

Help CPA firms deliver better audits with better economics.

Better quality

Make consistency systematic.

Help firms execute their methodology consistently, connect evidence to conclusions, surface exceptions and give reviewers better visibility into the engagement.

Better economics

Make every professional hour more valuable.

Reduce the human hours required to perform repetitive work so firms can improve realization and revenue per professional hour.

More capacity

Grow without depending entirely on headcount.

Give existing teams the capacity to serve more clients without requiring proportional increases in staffing.

Our approach to quality

Automation shouldn’t come at the expense of audit quality.

We believe the opposite should happen.

AI creates the opportunity to make audit execution more consistent — not less — when it operates within a controlled workflow with defined methodology, evidence requirements, escalation rules and human approvals.

Methodology

The firm’s approach defines how the procedure is performed.

Evidence

Work is connected to the evidence supporting it.

Exceptions

Issues are surfaced rather than buried in workpapers.

Human judgement

Professionals remain responsible for decisions requiring professional judgement.

“The objective isn’t to remove the auditor from the audit. It’s to make sure the auditor’s time is spent on the parts of the audit that actually require an auditor.”

Built differently

Built from the engagement outward.

Built by practitioners

Developed by professionals who understand audit methodology, documentation, review, deadlines, budgets, staffing and the realities of engagements.

Built around AI execution

AI isn’t an assistant added to the side of the application. It’s built into how the work moves through the engagement.

Built for professional oversight

Automation is paired with review, approval, traceability and escalation so professionals stay in control.

We’re auditors too

We’re not building software for auditors from the outside. We’re auditors too.

Validate was born from the same challenges our customers face — deadlines, staffing constraints, realization pressure, review bottlenecks and the responsibility to deliver quality work.

Where we’re going

The future of audit isn’t more software for auditors to operate. It’s software that works alongside them.

We envision an A&A practice where engagements move forward continuously, AI performs repeatable work, exceptions are surfaced automatically, and professionals are brought in precisely when their expertise and judgement are needed. That means less time administering the audit — and more time actually being an auditor.

  1. Engagement begins
  2. AI performs planning
  3. AI executes testing
  4. Judgement
  5. AI continues work
  6. Approval
  7. AI completes documentation
  8. Final review (partner)

The best way to understand Validate is to see it work.
